Hob acting weird

But did taking it apart and cleaning it fox the problem?
Yellow flames usually mean not enough air is being introduced.

Are there no screws holding the top plates of the burners down.
Another suggestion is remove the regulator and tip it upside down to see it some oil from the gas has got in it. It happened on ours so I put a gas filter in before the regulator.
Excellent idea. LPG originates from oil and has small particles of oil in the vapour. These can settle at the bottom of a U bend in any pipework leading from the tank or bottle. Only thing is, the filters cost an inordinate amount considering what they are, just an aluminium tin box with a paper filter inside. But ; you don't have any choice but to pay for it if you want one.
I have one because as a gas man I have been out to houses with Calor supplies and found pipework with U bends blocking the flow.
However, I don't think this is the OP's problem. If you had oil blocking the pipework you would get popping, and the flame woud probably extinguish, and then the gas would continue to come out of the burner without igniting but making a bubbling, popping sound.
