Hob acting weird

It started (according to Liz) the other day after filling up, the flame is very high, and yellow in places, it whooshes and has even gone out once, I suspect the regulator, but open to other ideas.

kettle is 20 years old and refuses to be clean.

Are all the other rings the same Kev? Sometimes they get sooted up or bits in them but I assume you have had the top bit off and cleaned it?
 
Already said they are the same, same on Calor too.

Screws rusted in so not chancing having to buy a new stove.

Last pic, is the POL fitting, which allows swapping to Calor, in case anyone questioned how.

Are there no screws holding the top plates of the burners down.
Another suggestion is remove the regulator and tip it upside down to see it some oil from the gas has got in it. It happened on ours so I put a gas filter in before the regulator.
 
Can't be gas because it does the same with two sources.
Can't be a dirty jet because all the rings are the same
Got to be something like the regular surely?
Incidentally I saw a similar thing happening to the flame of a domestic hob while I was freezing a pipe in the kitchen that I was working on. You do have decent ventilation in the van Kev? Easy to stay shut up this time of year and get a build up of combustion products??

Yes if its all rings I would say its probably regulator I would think. Unless of course you have spilt something that could have gone down all the burners. May sound a bit far fetched but I use my hob as a drainer some time and have had it happen to my 3 burners. I can remove the covers on mine though with Torx driver

Yes but very rusty, might mess when back home bit got another week at least to go.

I did wonder, but we cook with small heki open as liz doesn't like the heat.
 
All sorted, we found a great wc spot, I got out my mini screwdriver set and put me ginger wig on and removed all the screws, it was really rusty under all the burner caps so all cleaned out, blown out scraped out, washed and dried, the screws were stainless steel so came out easily.

If they are the long thin screws they are #4 x 1"1/4 ( 2.9mm x32mm) get them from ebay it's easier than trying to find some. (y)
