Hi

In the past we have been members of the National Trust, probably like most people. Last year we stumbled across the HHA. We paid approx £25 or so to get into Holkham Hall (Norfolk) and found a leaflet that informed us that for approx £55 (total cost £55-£25 already paid at the venue) we could, as a couple, join the HHA which gave access to many other properties. On our travels we have visited Burghley House and we had virtually broke even by this point. Besides other properties, we visited Blenheim Palace last week. It was free because we are members of the HHA. Had we paid it would have cost us £18 each to get into Blenheim.

So if you fancy something different to the National Trust or English Heritage or want to save a few bob if you visit historic properties, the HHA might be an option worth considering.

I would like to add that we were treated like royalty at Burghley because we were members.
