Hi everyone

English born, based in Barry, South Wales. Now retired and able to say when and where I and my travelling companion (border terrier - Zak) go! Not a fan of regulated, club type sites tho' have used them when all else fails and prefer to be "offgrid" (with the same proviso). Happy to camp either with or without company. Looks a great forum so will keep watching and hope to join in.

Cheers
David

Hi and welcome. I used to keep a pub in Merthyr and spent all my off duty hours at Barry, looking at old loco's those wonderful steam monsters which all went to Barry when they died.
Are they still there? Havent been for a few years. I do get to Merthyr and bridgend a bit tho' Love the way the welsh assembly is transforming the mountains around Treherbert and the Rhondda, Pity about all the slobs that leave their rubbish in the nice new stopping areas every week end.
I am based in Thetford forest now so hope to see yuo if you get this way.
It sounds as if you are a single like myself??
By the way I am one of the only two same people on here.:mad1::dance:

Hi Donkey too

The locos are long since gone now but there is a preservation society operating on public hols etc. The Docks area is being re-developed and the Island has had a bit of a facelift (long overdue). More progress would have been made if not for the recession. Maybe in another 10 years or so?

Hi David and welcome - I too prefer to wild camp and the quieter it is the better. Hope to see you sometime on the road.
