Hello you two

Glad things are going well - is it all that you thought it would be? Bet it's lovely not working. :)

Can I have details of your blog.

Ooooo, I'm so envious. Spent lots of time wild camping in France when my partner was alive - he did all the driving tho! I'm hoping some Wild Campers will be up for a trip to France in the spring? Is it too soon to start a post for it??

Never too soon to start a thread Carol - go for it.

It will be something to look forward to in the New Year. Also a meet abroad will take longer to organise than one here. :)

Hi Snowbirds sorry should have been more precise - we have visited Carcassonne but over night stops at Limoux, Fanjeaux and a couple of France Passion stops close by.

If we get the cahnce we will check out the Aires at Cacassonne but it is not cheap if it is still there !!

Hi Channelcrosser

Not thought that far ahead yet. I did most parts off France - being a teacher I was lucky enough to get the long holidays so would choose a different region each year. As I said, my partner did the driving - I just told him where to go!! Wherever I go will be an achievement for me but couldn't do it completely alone. I never drove the van abroad and I'm regretting it now... South-west is my favourite area - Languedoc/Gascony and Provence of course. Also, contrary to popular thought, I've always got on with the French...

How long you there for you lucky things?

Any one want a spot in Carcasonne!!! From the direction of the bridge: You approach Carcasonne from over the bridge. The Castle "Le Cite" will be on your left. At the end of the bridge you must turn right (one way) The moment you turn right branch off to the right and sharp right again down a narrow road, follow it till you come to a car park. with barriers. Just push the barriers open if they have swung round. Don't worry, it is okay. Park by the river for as long as you want. Must be self sufficent in terms of water and battery power. You can go out daily to fetch water and empty out at any of the garages. I always park up here on my way to Spain after crossing the Swiss Alps. When driving over the bridge you can also see the river on both sides below.

exactly,i always have a soft spot for carcassonne because, being such a tourist place, busking there was great, and like anywhere,if you have a bit of an explore there's loads of places to stay
