Home from the sea, or near it.

We had a great time, meeting up with friends, despite the atrocious weather. The old van preformed faultlessly and returned over 30mpg and everything inside worked like a dream, except for the fridge which is heading to the skip.

The Ship and Anchor site at Ford, near Littlehampton is nice and flat with a lot of hookups and hard standings The food in the pub is plentiful and quite tasty for pub grub. Our meals turned out to be about £10 pp.

Now for a WARNING.

Anyone (like me) who is alergic to mossie bites steer clear or take some meds with you. The place is alive with them at night. The owners are aware of the problem because the carry anti mossie coils and spray. They should really mention this in their blurb. I was quite ill last night but ok now ... Thanks fer askin'.
 
Did you say Littlehampton? Sympathies to Mrs Jonas! Welcome back
 
If you had let the Mossies bite your Littlehampton, you would have had a Bighampton. :dance:

My husband knows all about those pesky mozzie bites too, they love him :heart: thankfully not me!
 
well it was peacefull in here till you returned and blame the poor mossies for attacking you
 
You tell on 'em, Jonas. Glad your van went well but sorry the nasty biting things made you poorly. They only bite the best people. One of my sons suffers badly wherever he goes in the world, some vicious insect finds him. When he went to Saudi Arabia there was a large buzzing welcoming committee and both is hands swelled up like balloons. He's tried every type of protection and remedy he's ever heard of and nothing works.

I`m negative blood group, just come back from Scotland and not a bite.
Husband is covered with bites and before you say.....no it wasent me. :tongue:
As for the crabs, well i live on an island surrounded by crabs....................
 
I'm a negative blood group too and the bitey things just love me... but my two children are the same blood group as me and neither of them get bitten, so I don't know what to make of it.

I get an allergic reaction too Teffy, especially abroad. It can make me really ill when I get lots of bites and I've tried every repellent in existence. Then a few years back, a doctor in an emergency clinic in the Canaries said that I shouldn't bother with repellants but should treat the reaction instead... ie take antihistamine tablets for a week before I go on holiday and the whole time I'm there. I've never had a bad reaction since. As for the repellants, the only thing that's ever worked is Avon's Skin-So-Soft spray - the mossies really do hate that for some reason :dance:
 
Thanks Minisorella, I'll pass that information on to my son. I don't know if he's tried the Avon stuff - it sounds as if it's the most successful.
