Last night with all this rain my centre skylight has started to leak. It is dripping onto the floor. It's coming from one corner. And it's the centre one by the kitchen and has the extractor fan built into it.Any ideas how I fix this? Do I have to get up on the roof and seal it? And if so what is the best sealer? Any advice will be appreciated...thanks

Quick fix , get your ladders out clean all the way around the sealed area , check if any of the seal is broken if so pull it off , lot of people say sikoflex is the best , I think that's how its spelt , Chris.

Hi Tezza, remove the inside trim then the screws that hold the frame in.

Pull it out and clean the old sealer off.

Then clean both surfaces, and use Silkaflex 521 spread in the inside lip.

Re insert, and tighten up the screws.

This is the only way to make sure it does'nt leak again.

You may get away with other sealers, but I've found that they can break down.

Just done three myself last week.

Thank you...just looked on eBay and there is sikoflex....but all different numbers and most purport to be sealants.. Can anybody say which number sikoflex I need or would be best?

Err, didn't Graham just mention 521?

Repairs
The chap that installed my external gas tank and solar panels removes and reseals these for £60. Not much help to you as you're too far away but there must be someone nearby that offers similar.
