Hi there, I'm looking to buy a starter battery (engine compartment not leisure) for my peugeot boxer harmony motorhome 2.0L petrol 1996 swb but am having trouble as I've been told its not the same as a standard boxer van as it needs to power the leisure battery as well but online keeps coming up with 019 battery which is for a standard van, I've tried getting help from halfords but they haven't got a clue either🤷‍♀️can anyone help please

Have a look inside the glove compartment. This is an Auto-sleeper, so there should be a unique build number for your van somewhere inside there?

Register with the Auto-sleeper parts website and they may well be able to help you identify the engine battery required, but first you will need to give them this build number. They have a database for every camper/moho they have built which they use to identify replacement parts etc. - this should include details on the type of starter battery used for your specific van, especially if it is used to charge the leisure battery. It’s a free service.

The altanator charges the les battery via a relay posably either linked to starter battery or direct, once van switched of any link is disconected, it in no way maters which size or starter battery used, but 019 very common for deisels, thats whats in my iveco 2,8 turbo.
If it fits the tray then ok, price trade £60/80, always go to trade outlets in overhauls and dirty hands. ;)
