HELP!!!!! The blue box,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

C'mon Sparks try to keep up.

That buzzer appears to be in series with the handbrake light so putting a short circuit in place of the device will only complete the circuit with a copper conductor instead of a buzzer.

The handbrake warning light has an ign pos to one side of the bulb, the other side of the bulb receives a neg from the handbrake switch.
Having a buzzer in series between the switch and bulb would serve no purpose.

The only way to know for certain what the buzzer is being activated by is to chase the red and black wires and see what they connect to, I have looked at the photo and in NO way does it indicate that it is connected to the handbrake.

Best guess is a step warning. Red wire from ignition and black wire from microswitch on step mechanism.

HI

I have a Fiat Hymer Swing, with the EBL99, I also have that little buzzer, so I don't think it is an aftermarket add on.

Might be worth emailing schaudt and asking them what it is

Matthew

Cheers guys ive been onto the company i brought the Hymer off they say it (might) be covered,, so fingers crossed,,,, will keep you upto date in what they find many many thanks for all you guys help,,

Mothman,,,,

Would tend to agree about it being a steps buzzer, can't think why it would be needed for the handbreak as all vehicles already have a warning light, interesting to know the real answer when you do find out Mothman.

Cheers all & all will keep you posted,, many thaks for all your help guys,,

I am surprised that Hymer are using such a cheap looking buzzer!
I would certainly check that all connections and terminations are secure.
Waggle test may be all thats needed.

Had a similar problem yesterday. removed the alarm until I get time to check out the contacts on the step.

Little white box

Hi Mothman Just read of your your problem,I have a hymer 524 and I am quite certain it's the buzzer for your electric steps.
Feel under the van doorway where the steps retract and you will find a push switch that the steps operate when you move the steps up or down.
If your your steps are'nt fully retracted the switch will still be in the 'on' position and the buzzer will sound. Hope this helps Tony F

Cheers i will go check that very thing out nice one, Oh by the way first time i had the Hymer i left the step down & drove away,,, never had any Buzzer tell me i left the step down any ideas why no Buzzer then at that time?

Cheers Mothman,,,,
