Help please

Hi Alf,
Yes I am aware of that, but like I said in my previous thread, all these vehicles have Ford engines (bottom end) so could the problem be linked?
Either by ratio or torque?

Happy Camping:)

as far as I am aware the Fiat engined Fords were some the 2002 - 2006 models

Hi Alf,
mines a late 2007 model Peugeot with a Ford engine(bottom end only) wasn't aware that Ford fitted Fiat engines at anytime. You live and learn.

Sorry to hear about your problems, hope you get them sorted. It seems to be there are more and more problems arising with dealers.I brought a new bessy on a fiat 16 months ago ,have had problems with fiat and swift, still trying to get sorted. Iwill never buy a swift or fiat again, the service has been crap,my vehicle even came back from swift worse than when it went in,totally disguested with them.A few weeks after buying the van my alternator was sqealing, sent in to have fixed, tried to tell me it was not, went in 8 times 3 different places, finally fiat have done a recall, put new alternator on ,ok now ,took 14 months 8 trips and a lot of bull **** from them.If you have a problem ,take it back and keep on till they sort it.Best of luck .

Hi Gary,

I am very surprised to read the above as Swift bend over backwards on after sales service, I would suggest you email Andy at a.space@swiftleisure.co.uk with full details of your Bessie.

Alternatively you can contact us and bring the van down to Sussex.

Regards

Peter

clutch

hi tws
let us know how you get on.
been looking at the ford transit website, and no major problems with the clutch.
although some have upgraded from the lightweight flywheel to one more substantial.

good luck

I may be right off the wall with this - but surely your contract is with Brownhills not Ford? So while they can suggest you take it up with Ford, ultimately the liability is with them? You bought a motorhome - not a van base and a conversion as 2 separate purchases.

This may not be very helpful, of course, given Brownhills' reputation for customer service. I'm sure CAB or Trading Standards could clarify, but I don't think Brownhills can wash their hands of it just because it's a fault with base vehicle.

You are absolutely right solway, regardless of the manufacturer of the faulty or defective part, the contract is with brownhills. It is their legal liability to put right whatever item it is, that they sold you. Their responsibility to chase up the component suppliers. You didnt buy a separate engine, clutch, cooker etc. You bought a complete motorhome. Send them a solicitors letter quoting the sale of goods act, if it doesnt work take them to court and publicise it....Bob
