New Member here - proud owner of a self converted T5 LWB. He's a beaut and I I've enjoyed a lot of trips in and around Scotland over the last couple of years. I've just jacked in my job of 20 years (eek) and decided to take a break for a few months driving in and around Europe, before getting back on the job thing! So here to trawl the forums for tips and advice on all the practical stuff, route planning, legal requirements for different countries, insurance tips, sim card tips, and plenty of other things! I've already used solwise to kit out a router and ariel due to lots of recommendations on this site and found them absolutely amazing. I'm sure most if not everything I need to know is already on the site somewhere so I'll enjoy searching it out :)

cheers

Ben

Hello, your van looks like looks great. Small size means it's easier to park up. Europe is great easierto park, go on the government websites for legal requirements for driving in different countries.

Hi and welcome from Spain. Lived over here for a few years now so please ask any questions. I may know the answer to a few.

Welcome from the Algarve.
25 years ago, we sold our house and business, bought a Motorhome and played out full time.
Finally gave up driving, after Covid.
Still missing the adventures, but have retired in a lovely place.
Good luck to you.

Hi there,
We’ve just come back from a month touring Spain, Portugal and France (not long enough!!) 19th May to 15th June
Only booked 36hr ferry Pmouth to Bilbao, £511, like a mini cruise! Never booked any sites , just rocked up and always space although Bilbao Aire we queued as it was Europa Cup final !!
Good roads almost everywhere, drivers all more courteous than UK, no one in a hurry, happy to stick to speed limits which are generally a bit lower 80km on main roads.
It was our 1st abroad trip and SO easy!
Never did night driving so lights not an issue, take a squeegy to clean your screen as LOADS more flies over there!
We invested in tags for tolls and although only used a bit in France, made life easy.
Driving fiat Ducati size van
Have fun, Lucy
