Hello from Perthshire Scotland

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone.
We've always been campers, but in tents etc.
We just put a deposit down on our first campervan. A very old T25.. Which we hopefully pick up next week after the guy we are buying it from fishes some work on it.
He had bought it to do it up to sell on, so we're hoping (really really hoping) it will be a nice little van.

Anyway thought this forum looked good for us as we like, "relaxed" camping..
We're hoping to do some pub stop overs and we like less formal sites where you can have a camp fire etc.

If the van runs ok we're hopefully taking it to Dumfries in a couple of weeks and were hoping to find a nice pub stop over or a relaxed site as a "midway" ish stopover between Perthshire and Dumfries. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also wish us luck please as we've dreamed of having a little camper for years and spent our hard earned savings on her.. So really hoping she's a good one.

:welcome: Hi from another Scot Great that you have moved up from a tent & you will have many many great trips in your van .:drive:

Hello from Aberdeenshire - Hope you enjoy your new van and the resources available from this great site. Well worth the £10 membership.

Welcome from Lockerbie - I am house hunting up your way but struggling to find a house that is camper friendly!

Halfway from Perth to Dumfries doesn't really work as you will be into the Hamilton area if you go the motorway route. Try an alternative route - go south to the Forth Road Bridge then head for the A701 through Penicuik to Moffat. Broughton has a nice eating place just as you enter from the North and you will find places to park without a problem. Then head on south over the Devils Beef Tub and down to Moffat where it is possible to overnight in the town centre or on the periphery without bothering anyone. Dumfries next stop.
