Heating but not on gas

Evening all

Hot water works on gas and EHU.
Heating works on EHU but not gas.

Now to my mind, that means the fault is not the circulation pump. I don’t think it can be any settings in the control panel… I’ve been through them countless times.

It’s an Alde 3020.

There’s an Alde dealer in Istanbul, but I’d really planned to avoid Istanbul traffic.

Any thoughts?

And thank you again!

If it's like the Alde heating system we had in our Bailey the heating part uses a sealed fluid system. I have no idea how that would affect gas v leccy though.

A few thoughts /.......
Did you try heating on gas at same time as EHU ?
e.g. Could EHU have worked during daytime and gas faied on night time?

Was the ambient temp the same?

Have you checked all 12v fuses?

when did heating last work on gas

How long did you have eating on gas before you decided it didn't work?

Photos on control panel (both displays) when heating on gas please.

My guess would be a problem with a diverter valve within the unit stuck in the EHU position, maybe the valve sticking due to lack of use but maybe the actuator failed.

There was a small fuse in earlier models (like mine). Is there one in yours?

Also, I would try powering down the control unit briefly to see if that resets it.

This seems to be the same problem you have.

By Jove, I do believe that was it.
Couldn’t sleep so was reading latest posts… got up to do change the settings.

For the first time, I can hear the coolant bubbling away. Unfortunately, the vent is in the wardrobe by my head … so probably won’t get back to sleep! But at least, I’ll be warm.

Thank you so much.

My only thing to say is that I was a CORGI gas wallah, and I went on the ALDI -oops sorry I meant ALDE - training course.
I wouldn't buy a camper with that system . . . . . .

It shouldn't bubble . . there shouldn't be any air in the system . . .

Hi Katherine. I don’t go on WC very often.
No,
that sounds very odd.

Start again.
I don’t go on Wild Camping very often. Much to my shame. I’m missing out on what 50% of our friends are doing.
From now go on both MH.co and this one.👊

These vans? Luckily they don’t go wrong very often, and to be honest, most faults are easily corrected.

But when the smelly stuff hits the fan. Get ready for your plastic to take a bashing.
Demi, now has a new engine. The old one went bang about 5 miles short of Lee’s Rolls Royce meet.
Initially I was ripped off by a dealer how sold me a perfect replacement. Not, it was almost as bad as the old one.
I’m trying to get some money back though the Small Claims Court. I reckon I’m throwing good money after bag. But hey, Nic (er in doors, I don’t think you’ve met her ) says I should do it.
The new one seems 🤞to be good. I’m one my first continental trip since it was fitted. I’d done a few in the UK. But so far, so good.
I’m in the Languedoc, soaking up the sun shine. Putting off the British winter for as long as I can. I’ll need to be back in the UK by the beginning of November, so i can get my 90 day period in before mid February.
Wasn’t ****** fun. Oh no! You don’t have to worry about that do you 🤬.
Nic is trying to get a French passport, her mother was French ( on auto type, that came up with frenzied. They must have met my M in L. )
Tbh, I worship the ground she’s under.

I’ll send you a PM in a while. Don’t wait up.

All the best
Derek
Ps I’ve no idea why the word ****** was blocked. Try again, Starts with a B, then an R, and ends with Exit

Had Alde heating for 12 years in total without any real trouble. I had to replace a circulating pump, the original type were obsolete. The new pump was identical apart from a beefed up motor.

As for air in the system, the Alde was very similar to a domestic system (I have bled my home radiators as often as the Alde ones). as far as bleeding was concerned. It did take a while to get rid of air after draining and replacing the fluid but that was down to the way the pipework had to be run in a motorhome. There were plenty of bleed valves on the radiators

And before you say you are a CORGI experienced wallah, I spent my life working on small and large hydraulic systems, often complex ones.

It's just all a load of hydrolocks 😜. My new van is the first one I've had with alde and I'm pleased with it sofar, very 'home like'. Always had blown hot air systems before.
There's about 10 radiators though that takes up lots of potential storage space, but a very even temperature is achieved with it.
