Hi all,
I have just got hold of a Davey Hot Pot heater for my van conversion, I have decided on the location for the heater in the van its self to provide the heater the best space for heat transfer into the living area, while taking up the minimal amount of useable space, the Davey is normaly used in boats up to 30ft so will be more than enough for my van.
My only concern is how to route the flue through the fiberglass roof and the insulation and cladding whilst keeping the whole thing water proof and more importantly not creating a fire hazard, I have had a look on the Davey web site but the through deck fitting that would normaly be used is more suitable for boat decks with a more solid structure to them(funny that).
Has anyone out there fitted a solid fuel heater to your vehicle and which option did you use for the through roof routing for the flue?
Any help and advice is most welcome.
The flue used is a standard 2.5 inch gas flue in mild steel, I'm sure stainless steel is also an option which would have a longer life and I will be looking into this but it would still be the standard 2.5 inch flue.
Many thanks for your time Martin.
