Not been for a few years but you used to get a pass from Ramsey town hall that allowed you to stop on a big bit of grass on ramsey sea front it had waste disposal and fresh water. I think the same pass allowed you to stop at sulby claddaghs that also had toilets as well as waste disposal and fresh water.

Sadly it’s now £100 for the permit, and you can only stay three nights out of seven.

You can get 1month permits forMooragh park £30 per month and Suldy Claddagh is a bookable campsite that requires a permit £30 for1 week or £40 for 2 weeks

The waste disposal and water at Mooragh was freely available when we were there, just at the end of the grass strip and accessed from the promenade. We mainly wild camped, all over from Ramsey promenade to Douglas promenade to the Bungalow car park. Had to move across the road on Douglas promenade one night because of the waves hitting the van!
LPG was only available behind the garage at Union Mills.
The Ayres nature reserve allowed overnight stays but this may have been stopped now. Worth a visit anyway.

Hi there I live in the rock , firstly the steampacket is expensive but what are your plans peel has a lovely campsite with swimming pool next door and town and pubs 5 mins walk some nice spots to wild camping that we use .when are you over we are away till the 11th sept

out of interest, which ferry do you use, and you have booked Bill, look at going a times then checking the ferry ££££!

Hi we are using the steam packet company. I only booked yesterday.
I was looking at doing it through direct ferries, but then I went straight to the ferry company which was cheaper by about £60.
We are leaving from Heysham on the 14.15 ferry, but to keep costs down and get a better crossing time coming back we are returning to Liverpool on the 1500 ferry.
Direct ferries were charging £387 plus a booking charge.
I paid £342.50 for a 6.5m van and both of us.
If I had booked a few weeks earlier it would have been a bit less.
But we only decided to go yesterday.
I coukd have paid about £50 more for a better return trip to Heysham , but decided Liverpool although further away from Glasgow was a better option.

Does look a great place to visit, I've seen lots of the bits watching the TT.
So is there a consession for islanders on the ferry? I was on a island off Mexico last year the ferry was $20 for me and $1 for locals.

Don’t miss a trip on the little steam railway, the tram up Snaefell from Laxey is good too.

We were there for the TT, amazing.

Just one of the hundreds of great exhibits at the Jurby transport museum, I had one in the 70s.

Ramsey promenade was a great spot for the van.

I was surprised to find out that our phone contracts are not covered in the Isle of Man.
I will have to take out a 12 day pass with EE costing £21.50 for each phone and our router when I arrive.
Thats £64.50
