Moved On again ....

To Newton Campsite on the Big water of Fleet near to Cardoness


Looks to be a stunner so far ....though light has gone now by time we got here and parked .

Water and chemical dump point only and sandy/grass pitches ...
Right on edge of a sandy bay ...

Only 1 other van here at moment so nice and quiet .

We stayed there just a couple of months ago. Beautiful spot.
 
I like D n G but my misses didn’t like it. We used to go to the Raiders road and park on the forest drive to watch the Persied meteors.

First time I visited on the way to Ardnamurchan weekend of Princess Diana's death

Second time (Loch Doon) was a few years back with a bunch of old landrovers on way to Islay ...

Was a bit underwhelmed on both occasions ...

This time has been fab though ...all sites with no wilding ...
Been so much fun and lots of friendly folks ...

Sites like that are brilliant - so much friendlier than the regimented places where all you get to view is straight lines of caravans and motorhomes like a housing estate and officious wardens telling you you haven't parked straight enough.

Those and pub stops are my preference these days.

Here in the North East there used to be absolutely loads on the Northumberland beaches when I was a kid, sadly no more.
Speaks volumes about the state of our poor old eco systems these days 😢
