Haydock motorhome

Hello,
I am at a wedding at a hotel at haydock racecourse soon and was wondering if there is anywhere nearby we could stay in our motorhome, campsite or pub.
It would be so much easier to stay over in the motorhome as we have a dog and other than paying £70 in taxis this seems the best option.
Hopefully somebody out there will know.
Thanks, Guy.

Have you tried talking to the hotel, telling them you'll eat and drink in the hotel while you're there, but be unable to drive off after the do.
Explain about being self contained, leaving nothing but tyre prints. Could also offer to have breakfast with them, next morning.
It's worked pretty well on our experience.

I'm a horsebox driver and I've seen the odd motorhome parked in the horsebox park, I don't know who you would ask but try getting in touch with the racecourse.
Mickey.

Search for sites shows a cl and a cs and a few pub stopovers further away. I think that an approach to the hotel is the best suggestion.

The hotel has been approached and they said they wont allow it.

Not a lot of choice around there. There is a layby on "The Lancs" A580 East Lancashire Road westbound just before J23 Haydock Island. Not separated from the road, noisy, and it had a reputation (in the 80's anyway) of hosting much
activity in the nearby wooded area. Going eastbound, you can get to the westbound at the nearby Stone Cross Lane jct, (McDonalds and Premier Inn) Layby is here.. 53.471152, -2.628429

Only other place I can think of is on the South Lancs Industrial Estate, Lockett Road area of A-in-M, here...53.501472, -2.634390 only the local boy racers will bother you up there.

It looks like i may be able to get a lift there and then get a taxi home for £35.00. That seems the best option.
