Having a dash cam could invalidate your insurance

To be honest I think they should be compulsory.

I would imagine they could be beneficial for solving some extremely serious non-motor related crimes as well.
A company I used to do work for, they had a few vans targeted by crash for cash teams, so their insurance company supplied them with a dash cam free of charge, and insisted they were fitted to every vehicle.

I was recently clouted by an Audi cutting across my bows on a roundabout in Spain. My dashcam was crucial in determining the other driver was at fault and his insurer paying up avoiding me paying the excess. So it’s paid for itself. Aviva were very happy to receive the footage as it’s saved them £8500.
Good to hear they helped in this scenario.

Are they not supporting the wider big brother need to watch everyone everywhere?

Wonder if anyone lost a claim as their dash revealed they accelerated instead of braked?

Sterling moss once said a amiture goes for the brakes but a pro goes for the throttle, i have had to do this many times to avoid a smash, esp on m bikes.

Good point.

I do have a dash cam, but would not be in favour of them being compulsory. We have to keep our eyes on lots of things these days. :) Big brother can go do one!

Famously never won a world championship, gave up racing after an accident left him in a coma for a month and temporarily paralyzed.
Now that's a perfect example of cherry picking. Many great drivers never one a WC, in fact more great driver never won a WC than did. :D :p
