Has the forum been hijacked??

Is it just me or have many of the members of the forum got cabin fever because its too cold to get out on the road!! The reason for this suggestion is that many of the postings seem to me have become somewhat puerile exchanges between a nucleus of 'senior' members. I value this site for tips about and sites for WILD CAMPING which seem to be somewhat few and far between lately. Could I suggest that those that wish to exchange one line messages use one of the many messenger services such as Microsoft Messenger or ICQ.
iv used my m/h all year in all weathers,so guess your not talking about me on that 1,and yes we do like a banter on here m/h related and not m/h related, but whats the prob in that? join in with us the more the merrier, and there is loads of info about wild camping sites so i really dont know what your talking about, without this site i wouldnt have been able to fix a my fridge, but with all the support of my friends on here, well i know what the problem is now,and its easily fixed!! saving me a few ££,i think this site is FANTASTIC.....wildcamping rocks :D :D :D

I think it is good on here for advice as well as chatting and making new friends so cannot see what is wrong with combining the two.

IMHO I think the site needs a chat room so that the banter is not on messenger or similar but kept within the site. Then the postings can be kept motorhome/ wildcamping related and everyone can still have fun!

Admin?????????

Sam The problem for some of us is TIME. Much as I would like I dont have time to wade through the 'chat element' or participate in it. Forums such as this are a useful way of passing on and receiving tips and like you value that. But when you have to wade through several pages of one line chat responses to see what people have to say about the original point / question it hides the many nuggetts here.

Clarkepeacock has a good idea -a separate chat room!

Ok i have sugested, The Wildcampers Arms for a seperate chat room, i am a member of another forum they have one called The Builders Arms and that works fine so may be Admin can sort this one out and Sam you can get your red wine in the The Wildcampers Arms save you going down the pub, seriously i think its a good idea and we dont realy want to upset anyone we all have something in common and thats we all enjoy our freedom when we are away in our vans whether you are a full timer or part timer summer or winter this site is for all of us to enjoy and to learn things like solving problems that could cost us a lot of money otherwise.:) ;)
