Thanks to all for the kind wishes and messages
After a bit of pressie opening (note to all those with loved ones with a Christmas time birthday ... non-Chrissy paper is always appreciated
), went out to Alnwick to the Saturday market and a wander around. Surprisingly very quiet considering it was the last Saturday before Christmas Day.
Bought some nice framed wildlife photos from a local Photographer (Red Squirrel, Robin and a Fox) from the market and browsed the local Bookshop and Charity shops (can always find interesting things in the Charity shops
) and got some interesting things to read for the future.
Bought a Subway Footlong to take away (they do a very nice Meatless Phillysteak for anyone who fancies a nice non-meat sandwich) and headed home.
Detour off the A1 due to what looked like a pretty bad accident
one car badly managed on one verge and another into the greenery on the opposite side of the road. Will not be a pleasant Festive season for those occupants and their families
. Don't know the circumstances but this time of year drinking too often involved with car accidents.
Back home and had an interesting meal. I say interesting as it was something that I have been looking for for quite a few years after turning Veggie ..... used to love having Ham, Egg and Chips for a pub lunch, but there has not been a decent non-meat Gammon around - spotted one at Morrisons last week and got it for my birthday dinner. Was very passable
not as tasty as the 'real thing' but still nice.
Then watched a bit of TV .... I know how to live!
