Hand Brake cable 1998 Peugeot Boxer 2.5 diesel !

OK, so same problem as before, i.e. getting hold of the part!

The garage has fixed the water pump problem now - yay! 👍 :)

The only other thing the van needs now to pass for its MOT is a new handbrake cable.
Garage have been given 2 cables, but both are about 200mm too long at 3,000mm

The cable needs to be 2,800mm. Anybody out there who can help?

I'm going to have a look at Coastal Motorhomes as several have suggested and also try and see if I can find an owners group or special interest group(!) if no joy there to try and hunt one down...

Sounds like the one ordered is for a LWB van and you need a MWB or something like that? check for an alternative part from Fiat and Citroen as well, not just Peugeot.
like Mr Squirrel says, I would be sure the cable could be shortened. Try a garage that is able to make their own brake pipes and that kind of thing.
At a push, a breakers yard to rob one?

Thanks for the tips, folks.

The van is a MWB. Think it's back to the same situation as the 'water pump' problem where the part is no longer manufactured for this year and model. Water pump problem has now been sorted by the garage, btw, which is something positive at least.

The handbrake cable is the only thing left stopping it getting through the MOT... :confused:😢

I'm checking around some of the special interest groups/forums/FB pages as well, see if anybody can help....
Also sent an email message to Coastal Motorhomes as they're not answering the phone just now (probably too busy)👍

Have checked compatibility on all of them and no joy 😞

The engine/chassis is a 1998 2.5d MWB, I'm assuming I need to enter it in the 'Variant' field as 'Platform/Chassis' (drop down menu) on the listing?
The only other 2 choices are 'Box' and 'Bus'...

In that case I guess it might be worth getting the garage to give me the exact dimensions for the original handbrake cable (or what they expect the replacement to be) and messaging the seller(s) on eBay to check if the length etc. matches? :unsure:

I'm going to need the specifications to get a cable made anyway, I assume?

Think I might need @Welsh will's help again... ??
