Halfords

I was under the impression they did free battery fitting. They don't. It's £15 :(

That’s interesting Carol, As So did I !, Don’t know where I got that notion from mind you But that’s two of us that are wrong then lol lol.
In fairness to them I’d does say £15 On there website though !.

Maureen the Moped needed a new battery and conked out conveniently near Halfords, £15 fitting charge and the lad was a bit slow to be kind not a clue in reality paid 315 TO fit my own battery, they put the old one behind the till and I collected it later as I had a use for it

If you have a battery to dispose of take it to your local scrapyard, mine gave me a tenner for one. They weight it then either give you a cheque or pay directly into your bank.

All pay cash here, why not folk go to a proper battery shop and save over halfrods prices

I can't even lift the battery, never mind get it under the bonnet. Seemed like the best option. However, not only was the fitting cost a surprise, she only came up with two possible batteries for my van ... one was a standard Halfords and the other was a make I'd never heard of and was not in stock! Back to the drawing board!

Do you belong to the AA Carol? The nice men in yellow carry new batteries for sale... with free fitting

Have a trip over to Huddersfield and go to northern tyre and batteries.
They will fit for free and will be a lot cheaper than halfords
Or get the battery and pop up to mine and I will fit it for you.

There are people like yourself Carol who cannot do jobs like this themselves so this service is beneficial to some, however there is a charge.

Another way is to buy from somewhere like Euro Car Parts especially if there`s an offer on like there is at the moment Euro Car Parts | Car Parts Online & In Store – FREE UK Delivery

You can also collect and the guys who work there will happily carry the battery out to your motorhome for you and then you`ll need to arrange fitting, at a meet possibly :hammer:

My step-sister had a foolproof way of getting jobs done quickly and normally for nothing

Undo the top couple of buttons on her blouse and hitch up her skirt, that usually did the trick :lol-049:

She openly admits and says that`s how she managed eventually to pass her driving test after 10 fails :scared:

The examiner didn`t have a clue how she drove because he had other " things " on his mind :lol-049::lol-049::lol-049:

had a new battery on the wifes berlingo last week... local tyre place a mile down the road had a choice of budget (sheild) in stock or duracel tomorrow...both with free fitting . prices are comparable with internet (next day delivery) and i didnt get my hands dirty.

they kept the old battery... the mot garage next door said they get a guy round once a month who pays about 3 quid a battery....better than wasting a mechanic for a morning at 40 quid an hour for a trip to the recycling yard and theyed need a waste transport license

I can't really call breakdown if I haven't broken down though and you have to buy the battery from the AA as I had to do with my car once. Good idea though ...
