We have left it a bit late to beef up our security before we go to France on the 10th.
I have looked at the Milenco locks for the habitation door but would prefer one that can be locked & unlocked from the inside too.
I seem to remember seeing some that were silver in colour that would do the job.
That's all I can remember, does this little hint give anyone a clue to the type I mean?

I am always concerned that beefing up the locks on the doors of your MH can be impediment to your escape in times of fire, I used a very loud movement alarm on the door bought from Ebay for about £5. Most people trying to brake in will be opportunist, so they don't know who's in the van or if there is a large dog, so at the first loud sound they will be off like a shot. You could always try sociology, and put a very large dog bowel outside the habitation door. :dog::dog::dog:

I bought one that fits over the door handle and does not interrupt the mechanism for locking and unlocking the door inside.
Cannot really remember who I bought it from but the name Brightlock sticks in my memory.
You could try and Google that though.
Just Googled it myself, it is Brightlock and the lock is about £49/50.
I believe having one on my door stopped some scrotes from gaining entry, although they caused a little bit of damage using screwdrivers on the edge of the door trim.

I'm not concerned about when we are in the van. I sleep next to a 6 foot builder & my very protective Jack Russell will be on one of the front seats.
It is when we leave the van parked & go off cycling that I'm worried about. I don't like the idea of locks that make it obvious that you are not inside the van.
Phill is going to do something with the cab doors & under bed locker door & we already have Lock M Outs on the windows, so it is just the final locking of the hab door to beef up.

New Rover I think Brightlock may be no more, their web site no longer loads.

Oh! Sorry about that. I just Googled the word and the small Motorhome website came up so I didn't actually go to the Brightlock site. Oh well, another one bites the dust.

I fitted these, very secure, easy to fix & you can leave the keys in whilst inside for a quick getaway if needed. Milenco Cab Door Lock (Twin Pack) For Fiat Ducato Van, Motorhome & Camper | eBay. They fit my Renault KMax with an added spacer to the back.

When leaving MH I lock driver & passenger door internally, exit via side door & lock externally with one of these: Fiamma Safe Door WHITE :- High Security Lock Caravan Motorhome | eBay

MH is like Fort Knox, the vulnerable part are the windows which you can't do a great deal about if smashed. All doors have locks fitted as standard, Cobra alarmed, Tracker device, immobiliser, under floor safe, steering wheel lock aswell as steering lock & motion camera.

Not that I am paranoid!!???:scared::scared:

Do you have one of those automated gun turrets? Land mines? Attack dogs? Tank traps? Better to be safe than sorry. :)

Izwozral I like the cab door locks but our van is based on a Renault Master.

If you then use a security hab door lock you are obviously not in your van, so maybe they'd just break a window.

I was looking at the lock m out device for the sliding window. Does anyone know if it will fit the Hymer sliding window catch, it's a 2001 model but I don't know the make of the catch
