Guess where I am.

A few more pics from yesterday. Moved over to Lamlash yesterday late morning and managed to bag the end spot at Clauchlands right out at the end of the village. I think this is Bill @fishermans favourite spot here. Its great if its quiet but there were five vans in here last night so a bit cramped. They all came in after us I might add.

Will probably stay another night then move on. Great spot for Kayaking, cycling etc

Weather forecast is still brilliant.

This brilliant weather must be right up the west coast of Scotland and Ireland just now, Barry. Seems both places are equally littered with stunning beaches, big hills and pointy islands! 🤣👌😎

It's been so clear as well. We could see Norn Iron from the sound end of Arran yesterday and today more clearly than ever before. I'm sure I saw a bloke on the distant shoreline stood next to an old Skoda picking his nose.

Definitely caught the sun out on the bike. Went right round the island today. Fantastic.

Bet they don’t have any scrummy Irish cheeses up where you are though, Barry… 😋 😉

A cracking photo of the Isle of Arran captured by someone off the local FB group yesterday. I searched around and I can't find a single one like it anywhere on the internet.

Interrupting your thread here, Barry, but we’ve seen a reasonable spattering of motorbikers touring around this neck of the woods in Ireland since we’ve been here. They’re having the weather alright! 👌

I gather from the locals that April/May are the best months for visiting western Ireland as the weather is often drier than the “official” tourist season from June onwards.

It’s certainly been outstanding weather for us, and same for you in Arran 👌👍🤞

I've often found that Marie. May into June have often been lovely weather and dry months up here. As I said before It was always May our crew (ten of us) would go to Ireland for the May Fly or Duffers fortnight as they called it (fishing). I remember one year on Lough Derg not only was it sunny but it was bloody hot! It might have been May into June but not much fishing went on apart from a few die hards. We spent two weeks swimming, larking about on boats, windsurfing and chasing the local talent who I have to say were absolutely stunning. :D

Another successful installation. 😁

The west of the island looking over the Kilbrannan sound towards the mull of Galloway, me thinks Barry. Fantastic sunsets and you are spoilt for places to park up.
What a shame you can’t head for Thundergay and head up to coirien lochan, one of my favourite places on Arran, never get bored heading up there, and the peacefulness makes the 40 minute slog well worth the effort.
Enjoy Arran Barry.

Sure is my favourite spot, just a shame the carpark is so small. I have seen otters there twice Barry, one morning right under the carpark eating a fish. I ran into to get my camera, went to take a shot, only to find my battery was low, lucky white heather. :(
You are certainly getting the weather.

Its a good spot the one on the end at Lamlash Bill but its one of my least favourite now. I think you will know why. We were only going to stop two nights but ended up stopping three. First two were fine. When we arrived we had it to ourselves and tucked in the best spot in the corner as near as the fence as possible. There were five or six vans in the end though and for me it gets too crowded. Next night I think there were three or four but last night was the worst. Two tiny car size vans parked right next to us with a three or four year old literally a doors width from us, both of them with "Woosh bang" Doors. Kid never shut up and this morning from sparrow fart it was even worse. They were nice enough and I chatted to them this morning but I just can't cope with noise and lots of people around me these days. Ill need to pick my Aires and wild spots carefully in France this year.

We are up at one of my favourite spots at Catacol now about a mile or so from Lochranza. So far only us. Its stunning and so quiet. The far north of the Island seems much quieter than normal and I think I know why. The Toilets at Lochranza with the tap on the side are closed down, the tap removed and all roped off. That means there is no water to be had or toilet emptying (not that I liked emptying there) anywhere in the north end of the island. The toilet run is going to be fun on the bike. A 32 mile round trip either to Brodick or Blackwaterfoot! :D

Great ride this afternoon down to Brodick for a very late lunch then a stop off at Corrie at our favourite spot on the way back.
