Hold your horses! GB is pulling the same trick that Tony Blair did is saying: "I'm going to go, but not just yet.... (i.e. I want to hang on to power until the very last minute.... and the keys to No.10)" Typically selfish.

AJ totally agree with your ideas and we could probably add some more.

I simple do not understand why somebody cannot get on and do these simple straightforward kind of ideas which would sort out the problems and set us on the right course.

The current system is a farce.... these politicians must think the average joe buttons up the back. They treat us with utter contempt.

Every current politician should be hung from gallows and left for the crows to peck their eyes out. Shameless conmen the lot of them.

If gordys last throw of the dice comes off,the tail will be wagging the dog.
The scottish and welsh nationalists will let labour run riot in England, the deal will be."No cuts in public spending in either Wales or Scotland" in return for control of England.

Government by Committee

i am a Labour voter and Scottish but even i see the insanity of that move

i hope that Clegg gets his finger out and sides with Cameron, the thought of Browns rabble running the country sends shivers down my spine, what is needed is clear control not a commitee

What really frightened me before the election was the possibility of the idiot Osbourne (who even Tories regard as a buffoon and who is only there because he's Dave's mate) having free rein with the countries finances. Whatever happens now, at least that can't happen so I'm happy with whatever combination comes out of this. By the way, at the risk of being bombarded with insults, I believe that history will be a lot kinder to Brown than the electorate - he is regarded as a giant on the international stage and gets my support for his work to eradicate world poverty by getting other countries to agree to write of third world debt and for getting other world leaders to agree to a common approach when the global financial **** hit the fan, thus avoiding what could have been a totally chaotic free-for-all. Start those insults rolling!!!!!!

To some extent I think the Liberals will be the big losers,
If they go with the Tories then they will lose people who voted them as they didn't want Cameron & the same goes for Liberal voters not wanting a Labour government if they go with Labour. If they don't do either the Tories will have to form a minority government which can be brought down at almost any time by the Liberals & they won't do any better in a new election.

Gordon Brown had to go (personally I think he was a good chancellor but lacked the personality for being PM) If he hadn't made the decision to resign then he would have had to face a vote of confidence at the Labour party conference. His timing has forced Cameron to back down on any concessions on voting reform (but is it enough)

My view of Nick Clegg is he is a nice guy but not living in the real world who now is in the role of 'Kingmaker'. All through the election he was asked about what he would do in the event of a hung parliament (an almost certainty) & he actually thought they would win enough seats in the current system (they were never ever going to get above a hundred in any type of circumstance) He should have been having these talks behind the scenes before the election.

Cameron will offer Clegg the minimum he can get away with as he is desperate to get into power, BUT will he deliver. I think a Lib Tory coalition will only run for a year or less. They will bring in bills that the Liberals will probably go along with (& give the rest of us the feelgood factor) but then start to try to introduce ones that will force the Liberals to vote against them. In a new election people will be suckered to think the 'New' tories aren't the same ones that caused so much hate (poll tax - destroyed the coal mining - 3 day weeks)

My view is that who ever gets in we lose but you have to hang your hat somewhere, I rather somebody disagree than just sit on the fence.

I thought that this little story sums it all up;

I asked my friend's little daughter what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be Prime Minister some day.

Both her parents, Labour supporters, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all those poor people on benefits."

Her parents beamed, and said, "Welcome to the Labour Party!"

"That's a worthy goal!" I told her, and continued, "But you don't have to wait until you're Prime Minister to do that. You can come over to my house, mow the lawn, pull weeds, sweep my drive and I'll pay you £25.
Then I'll take you over to that homeless chap who hangs out in front of the store. You can give him the £25 to use toward food."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless man come over and do the work himself and you can just pay him the £25?"

I smiled and said, "Welcome to the Conservative Party."

:)

Going....Going......Going...... still going......still here.****

I get annoyed at the amount of coverage on tv about it all. Especially the BBC. Lets not forget these people are paid by us. The top guy at the beeb gets about a million quid a year for doing what ?

Theres seems to be 24 hour coverage, and its very cheap tv to produce, no actors to pay no writers.... its just the journalists on overtime.

So in my view the BBC should be shaken up, the staff paid the same as civil servants, and with the savings scrap the licence fee.

Same goes for a lot of other government departments, such as the Met Office, who never get the weather predictions right and yet the top guy there gets a million as well.

All these folk are living on a different planet to the rest of us on minimum wage.

Cut out government waste and abuse and that will go a long way to solving things.
