Good Auto electrician needed southern Spain

We need an auto electrician to sort out problem we have with inverter. Well that's what we think it is. Long story (which I can't discuss at the moment) - nothing electrical working unless engine is running. Don't mind travelling to find someone who can sort it for us, otherwise we will be heading home. I've Sleep Apnoea so need to get something sorted to use CPAP machine.
 
Hi I would have thought you would be better trying somewhere that deals in caravans and motorhomes. Your inverter will be connected directly to your leisure battery and if your inverter will only work with the engine running then I would suspect there is a problem at your leisure battery check the negative battery post isn't corroded or loose connection also what vehicle is it?

Hi, if you give your approximate location there maybe a wildcamper member nearby with a multimeter who may be able diagnose your fault. Maja
 
I have a friend who is In benifato near Benidorm on holiday in his static don't think he his back till next week he fits tracker's etc so I'm sure I could talk him through fixing your problem chris

Being southern Spain you shouldn't be more than 100 yards from an xpat...one of them should be able to help. Maja

Get yourself onto a site with an electric hook up, from a fellow hose head.

Can't you run your CPAP machine off 12 volt, as I can run mine off both.

We've a friend coming down shortly to have a quick look. As soon as we switch engine off everything 12v stops working. Don't know if hook up will work yet. Sods Law long Easter weekend in Spain so a lot of sites full. We've bagged a nice wild spot at Torrox, north of Malaga so we will have to sit it out until Tuesday.

Vehicle is new Mobilvetta - we got a company to wire inverter to be abe to use on all the sockets, so not straightforward fit. Dealer said it couldn't be done. So our problem to deal with!!!
It was working great. We don't hammer it using heavy voltage stuff but it's convienient to be abe to use sockets when needed. Spoke to guy who fitted it - he thinks a wire could have come loose. I will ring him again when our friend gets here.
All else fails we'll head home early.

Sorted. Fuse on leisure battery had blown - John didn't remove cover so didn't see it. As soon as inverter plugged in blew fuse again but at least fridge etc is on and I can use CPAP machine.
Such a relief - I feel like a ton weight has been lifted.
Put another fuseand inverter is now. working.
Now we need to work out what blew the leisure battery fuse - hopefully just one of those things - but at least if it happens again we know what to do.
