I was talking to Barry this morning and he like a few of us is in the land of the dazed and confused so I thought I might try to demystify it with the help of others on here.

David (Wildebus) and a few other knowledgeable lads know masses more than most of us and they do tell us in various threads when asked but it seems to be a nightmare if you're not sparky inclined.

So firstly where in the country can we find places that we can approach and more importantly get the work done well and without needing a mortgage for the labour element?

The where is I suppose the most important element initially as the rest will depend on what kit is needed.

A few recommendations for places around the country that are fair and can do it properly would be great, the issue I feel will be it is going to be caravan and motorhome dealers who are never cheap and always busy attending to sales vehicles, not sure I would use an autoelectrician and it might be their first job of such and will they know their areas from their elbow in a motorhome.

I think in the first instance I might enquire with the nearest MCEA person, but again they are mega busy, mine is good and she's always going on training courses to increase her knowledge.

I'm not sure what the choices are hence this thread.

S&G home & Leisure

Daniel at S&G https://www.sghomeleisure.co.uk/ is very understated, but he knows his stuff
They do most of the fitting for RoadPro nowadays I believe https://www.roadpro.co.uk/

RoadPro did my solar and lithium and S&G did the inverter and levelling system but S&G can do everything you need, I had an issue with the levelling system (Ma-Ve) took it back and they sorted it in no time.

Too far south for me but handy for some.

VanBitz in Taunton. I have no problems in taking a 1200 mile round trip to get work done there as they are excellent (not the cheapest though). When I was first thinking of getting lithium and everything else related to it installed I was really impressed with the way Nick and Ash answered all my queries over the phone, telling me all I needed to know in a simple fashion that even I could mainly understand. They have a nice place to stay on site while getting the work done as well.

Isn't that the place that once had a very good forum till he buggered about with it so much it was unmanageable? and that's a fact ;) ;)

Dave Burleigh motorhome Facts you mean? Are you not thinking of Outdoor bits? Think they are or were in Exeter. I could never get a response from them. There is still a website but Google has them as permanently closed. VanBitz is also a familiar name.

I’ve only ever heard good things about VanBitz tbh

Pro 2x amps hours for kilogram
Con needs old units rewired

As a van builder myself from scratch, it was not a issue
