Probably about time for some one to resurrect a ‘picolax’ thread. Probably a different forum but I recall laughing at the description of how it ‘works’.

What Picolax is used for. Picolax is used to cleanse the lower bowel in preparation for endoscopic, barium enema, X-ray or surgical gastrointestinal examination. It does this by acting in the intestine and colon causing a watery bowel motion which evacuates the bowel.

Btw. Been there, done that. Although I took agent Orange on the right day. I remembered the horror of the effects of taking it. The child’s dress on backwards, laying on the bench(?), I’d forgotten, the knees up position, and I thought I’d blanked out for ever,

Luckily for me, after the procedure, I was, hurriedly, directed to a loo. So no lift problems. On sitting down, I managed to drown out the giggling from next door, with a series of thunderous farts.
The lovely lady who operated the device, who looked uncannily like Kelly Hawkes, gave me the great news. There was no evidence of cake. “We don’t mention the other c word. We call it cake.”

I was assured, it would be unlikely I’d ever need to have it done again.

I think it's because the first swab is from the anus and the second is from the throat.
