I fitted a small 4 stroke genie in front passenger foot well .
Extended the exhaust through a hole I drilled in the passenger step.
1/2" pipe hangs down 6" .
It charges my dc power pack boils the kettle and runs a 400W heater .
Not all at the same time .
Bonus heat from the gennie.
No fumes or exhaust gasses.
I drove heavy plant for 50 years so the little noise from my gennie I hardly notice.
So being fresh air cooled you are lucky it did not seeze;

Interesting that the makers of the Genny I’ve got suggestes that the Genny I’ve got fitted in ‘MO’ is kinda as quiet as an equivalent Honda ! (Not talking about the small 120v EU ones)
🤔

Not everyone has room for a bank of batteries and acres of solar or can afford the latest tech, People's needs are different.
Cost of gen and fuel is more that a few hunded watts of solar and a decent regulator, and batteries have dropped way down in price.
5 to 6 hundred, how much for a honda genset.

I removed the carry handle as its easier access to filler cap .
It's a Generac 625 4 stroke.
With that in passengers footwell you wont be able to pick up any young birds. ;) 😂
Fact is you may have invaladated your insurance with that setup, sorry but looks a right mess. 😨

It doesn't matter how much a few hundred watts of solar and batteries are if you haven't room for them and a genset can be had cheaper than a solar, decent lithium and charger setup . Plus it will provide KWs of power hours on end all year and solar certainly will not do that.
As I originally said people's needs are different.

True but why so much power required, mainly only lights and if fitted a fridge, unless you have a house setup in the van, m wave electric grill big tv sauna or heated swimming pool on the roof LOL.
Yep everyone has diff needs, i kept mine simple and light on electric, other may be all electric.
