Has anyone fitted gas struts on the pull down bed on a Hymer before.
Where is the best place to buy them.
Brownhills Hymer at Preston want £70 +vat an hour to fit them and say it could take 1.5 hours, they charge £56 for each gas strut.

Gas struts will have a manufactures name and part number on them simply do a search on tinternet and see if you can get them elsewhere.

As for fitting can't be that hard if you do one side at a time. Main trouble will be getting to the top links. You have to drop the curtaining material and remove the cover.

good luck

Thanks, i managed , eventually, to see the part number on the struts. It was on the side of the strut against the cab wall and was impossible to see. I took several pictures with my phone lit by a torch until i could read the bit i needed.
Billington group do them at £35 each plus vat so i will order them after the weekend.

I noticed they had gas struts all sizes .
Just Google Albert Jagger They sell lots of stuff for us Motorhomes.
Hope this helps Derek.
