Not having a great trip, first my tap now one of the burners on my hob has packed up. When I push the knob in to ignite it's not moving. Removed the plastic knob and the brass part underneath seems jammed. I've removed the the nut and applied WD40, then tried gentle persuasion but seems stuck. Any suggestions?

Is the knob to activate the ignitor a separate thing, or an integral part of the gas regulator knob?

No just pulled the plastic knob off and its the mechanism underneath thats stuck.

I am still confused.

Does EACH burner knob ignite it if you press it? Or is there just ONE button for the igniter separate to the gas regulator knobs?

Do the OTHER burners function and ignite okay?

The brass part when pushed in and turned via the knob starts the gas flow. It's the brass part that's stuck.

Was the knob working properly at the start of the trip, or is this the first time this trip that you tried to use it?

It was the first time on this trip wgen I parked up. It was definitely working a few weeks back.

Result with gas regulator on my hob thank you TJBi for suggesting silicone lubricant. One down, now mixer tap to replace, got a temporary repair with self amalgamating tape (thanks to whoever suggested that). Managed to get sink out to get access to tap and have identified a suitable replacement. Happy days, onwards and upwards...

Ooh, Matron, 'ark at him with his personal questions on a Member's sex life ....' :ROFLMAO: If the WD40 don't fix it, try the blue tablets ... :ROFLMAO:

3rd Form vulgarity to the fore once again ...

Our hob intermittently stops sparking and we have to use a lighter. Seems to suddenly start again after going over several bumpy roads, but that could be coincidence. Think it may have a battery which we must get round to investigating but it's not a big problem ;)

Mine runs directly from the leisure battery.
