Fuel Prices

I’ve been on a few cruises calling in to various small islands in the middle of vast oceans and what I don’t understand is how come fuel is cheaper in for instance Madeira than in the UK ? Nothing to do with taxes I don’t suppose. . .
 
Mid 180s in Kent yesterday, down about 8p from a week or so ago......but the pug partner came out the MOT with an advisory for a steering joint
