I not sure what you mean x250 I assume Peugout or another Seval deriviative petrol or diesel ? Two things however spring to mind is the airflow intake set at summer position good old days winter time set the nozzle downwards to avoid the chill ...Fiats Uno and panda use to suffer bad from this it was the jets in the carb freezing at standstill would thaw out ...set off again and the wind chill meant they would freeze and stall ,,,,the prcess repeated heat from the manifold would thaw

It took Fiat ages to work out what was happening and the air filter was not adjustable ....In the end and a clumsy but effective solution behind the grill we used to block it off with plastic to shield the carbs and filter and hey presto no problems there was another solution but I cant remember and this worked.

I suppose even if diesel you could have the same problem diesel can freeze but at injection point more pertinent the effects of waxing more dramatic

I am not saying this is the cause but experience from the past with similar circumstances so unless anyone comes up with a more definitive answer worth considering

Depending on the age of the vehicle it could be the fly by wire sencer on the throttle, a diagnostics check may be needed.

Did that nothing showing
Today no freezing no throttle problem just though a post here might have been seen by someone who had a similar problem with their Fiat

I doubt very much it was cold weather but hey suck it and see .

IIRC I've seen posts by NIck on OAL about problems with the tracks on throttle sensor.

That would be my thoughts too, however if the TPS is failing it should show up on diagnostic, did you check it when the problem was live.

Strangely a Ren. Trafic I have has done that a couple of times before. Turned off and restarted and all OK.

Bring back the old proper dirty engines.

Now go and wash your mouth out with soap:scared:

Think of all the yuk that they generated. Ok you cannot fiddle with the new Euro Engines but they have far more power and churn out far less pollutants :lol-053:

Andrew, the X250 refers to the cab model of Fiat / Peugeot / Citroen

And travel much further on breakdown trucks .

I have had the same problem with my van based on the X244, each time switching off and restarting got me going again but it did show up on a diagnostic check as the throttle pedal so when it got worse I removed the pedal (5mins) and cleaned the contacts and the tracks, it needed doing twice a year eventually so I bought a new pedal from Poland for £35 and it has been OK since

No only happened twice on consecutive days then in first 500 mtrs lost throttle momentarily but before I could pull in it was working again both times -6° after the 2nd time I checked fault codes but none recorded

Hopefully it's something only happens twice :lol-049:
