front seats

Hi all this is my first post so here goes. I have a 1987 Fiat ducato with a swift body with only two seats in the front and I am looking at putting a double passenger seat in the front can anyone offer any suggestions on what type may fit ??

Hi I would ask your insurance first before you do any modifications to your van they may not cover you in the event of a accident have a look at the small print on your policy

Get in touch with breakers yards as some van variant of yours had duel seats

Nothing to stop you legally as built before 2006 but do ask ins co first.
They will also if a steel floor be retro fits,but if wooden any thing goes, just make sure the under plates are wide and well spread, been there had the t/shirt

Your Cab should be the standard Commercial Cab (just with a Motorhome body bolted on). You need to find a Breakers Yard with a double seat from the same model. The Cab will have the fixing points for a double seat. This may be difficult as the vans of that period may be as rare as Rocking horse Poo.

Alternatively, take some measurements and see if another double seat will fit.

Have you tried asking onTalbot owners club talbotoc.com ? The Talbot Express is basically the same van (also Peugeot J5 & Citroen C25), someone on there will know.

Hi and welcome to the site, I think maingate has the best answer for you. Also if u can find a scrap van it will almost certainly have a dual seat as 99% of all vans did.

Thanks for the replies it is just a standard cab. So will have to hit the breakers.
