This weekend my fridge has decided not to work on gas.

12v/240v both ok so not the fridge itself. The burner is lit and a good colour, and the flue is clean but it won't cool. The only thing I can think of is the gas thermostat.

Can anyone make other suggestions?

Thanks.

Buy a generator.
(It was a real treat meeting you both at Attleborough).

Colin😊😊😊

that's about it i reckon , everything is ok but the efficiency needs to improve. maybe a mini awning a foot above the flue outlet to give shade, plus the fans , check the fridge is level of course !

Try parking with the vents in the shade ? Dometic have a call out service was £80 plus parts.worth a call as they give good advice .hope you get sorted .

well mine is like that unless it level it dont work and did take off top cover over weekend to hlp keep it cooler

Is the gas flame as tall as it should be ?

If other gas appliances are working correctly then is the burner jet partly blocked so flame not large enough ?

Porkie Yorkies

Ater our problem at holllingworth, (thanks to d for the help) make sure you have enough gas. lol:mad1:

Thankfully not a gas supply problem, my stove's working fine.

Much cooler today and i'm parked under trees so plenty of shade but it hasn't helped. Looks like it's the thermostat or a partially clogged burner, though the flame is still a good colour...........unless anyone knows different.

I had a similar problem last year fridge would not cool went to engineer he said it was because it was hot outside and i was running it on max and it could not cope he suggested running fridge on lower setting and parking in shade Most fridges will play up when temperatures outside rise many wont work over mid 30s I have now fitted a double auto fan in the top vent to extract some of the heat I live in Spain and now my fridge will work with fan and lower setting in temps up to 40 c. I now know why Spanish always park in the shade.

Sounds daft, but is the fridge set to cool too high.Think i remember reading should be on three bars and when on max setting simply works too hard and resulting in more heat produced without the desired cooling

I dont know why I didnt think of removing your vent covers Sue, it should have been the first thing to do.
Hope you get sorted. R x

There's a similar thread running on this, Sue. Barge 1914.. Idiots guide to fridge problems. You might find it useful?
We're all suffering at present.
Don't worry it'll get cooler soon.
Best of luck.
Stay cool, Baby !

Sue does the ice box ( if it has one ) still frost up even though the fridge doesn't work. Also what do you call a good colour for the flame. Pure blue, even all round, no bits of yellow or orange should be good but if the ice box does frost up its the jet. I have had that problem with Carols and the new jet sorted it.

when my dometic packed up a new jet was fitted worked ok ,no amount of cleaning work .if you order a new jet about a fiver they need the serial and model no to supply the correct part ,

Fridge update

First of all, thanks to everyone who came to my aid, much appreciated.

The temperature has dropped by 10° and the fridge has been in shade overnight. It is now working fine, so those of you who thought it was the heat, Well done. It never even crossed my mind cos it's never happened in 11 years, still you live and learn.

I never knew about setting the stat too high either, so another lesson learned.

What can I say Colin?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
