Free Motor Legal Ins.

But that's the whole point of having legal protection insurance ...

Losses which you incur through no fault of your own, and which are the liability of another party, are recovered through the legal system.

A solicitor appointed by Free Motor Legal will act on your behalf to get your money back.

Or have they refused to deal with it? If so, we should be advised.

Well I will keep you all informed. At the moment I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The search for a £900 replacement for our car is getting nowhere. I phoned three car dealers this afternoon and of the three the cheapest car of any make or model between them was £6000

How is this fair?

Morethan car insurance suggest that if they can find a comparable car on Autotrader, say something with dents and scrapes being sold on a council estate by someone with only a mobile phone number is a good match?

Quote "Not worth these legal firms messing about with they want to make money and recovering £350 will earn them nothing !"

"swiftcamper" I have been told the solicitors will charge in full for their services and also they will be charging for the Mercedes car that they have loaned us.

Yes.......... I talked up my potential car insurance payout to £1100 less the £350 excess when I complained their comparison cars chosen on autotrader was not as good as mine they have threatened to reduce the payout by £250 !

More... than that I cannot say......

If you have a total loss claim that is not your fault you should be put back in the position you were in before not screwed by the company that you have paid your premium to.

Update....

This is a new tack-tic?

Today flowers arrived for my wife, but it's 12 days since the accident,
you get

more than

you expect from this mob, well and truly roggerd and then flowers?

Oh and their engineers say a CAT D write off car was quoted as being a GOOD replacement!

Sorry to hear of your experience Harrow, hopefully you both weren't injured too badly, but I'm sure you must have been badly shaken by the accident, I know I would have been. The last you need after £$%^ hits the fan is a non sympathetic insurance company.
With an accident like yours I assume the police and other services maybe were involved and they can all verify the accident cause, so blame isn't likely to be disputed.
It's really important to 'stick to your guns' when negotiating with the insurers and as you have a hire car I assume you don't have a desperate rush to replace you lost pride and joy. Hopefully you have written to them pointing out all the positives of you lost car.
I think some of these Free Legal Cover insurers may be no more than No win No fee companies, so make sure you only sign up for what you understand and that they wont come back to you, if they don't win.

Good luck and be pedantic in claiming all your losses, inconveniences etc. , I'm sure mentioning the insurance ombudsman if things are going fairly may help.
