France and Spain for the first time

Hi,
Any suggestions for stops close to Calais, Angouleme/Bourdeaux, and Segovia on our first trip down to Granada.

when i arrive at the port i usually head for le touquet for our first night then on to lavel and follow the west coast via la rochelle auchen san sabastian burgos madrid granada and into portugal via gib but all depends on how long you have and how much m/way useage you want or like us non

Thanks for the replies, we do the trip a couple of times a year in the car but imagine it will be a whole lot different than trying to beat the clock. Must agree , no point in not taking the peage at the end of the n10 through San Sebastian. Also think the stretch to Abbeville is worth taking and possibly the stretch from Chartres to Angouleme........Comments????????? Much rather save the tolls if we can.

been down the west coast of france into spain many times and never used toll roads, never needed to as the N & D roads are generally empty, never seen a traffic jam in the last 8 years we have been going.
