Ford Cortina Campervan??

Had a few Mk3and Mk4 Cortinas in my time but never one like this. Loved my Cortina 2.0 Ghia 1978 thought it was the bees knees at the time.

I could cope with a Saab version though

Was it actually a Cortina or was it a P100 Pickup with demountable Camper body?

I was the same about my Cortina 1.6 GXL 1972 ( GTD 99K ) :dance::heart::dance::heart:

Venetian Red with a Black Vinyl roof and Rostyles which i hand painted Aluminium Grey and Black, it looked the dogs bollocks :dance:

2 glorious years i had that car then a neighbour drove into the back of it whilst it was parked outside our house and wrote it off :scared:

Pissed out of his head coming back from the pub after a boxing day dinner time session :mad2::mad2:

It didn`t actually look too bad but it had twisted the chassis beyond repair and was undriveable :cry:

I got paid out but nowhere near enough to cover the love and devotion i had for that car

There is one currently parked along the road from here but it does not have the Camper body, it is being used as a mobile advertising hoarding. It is parked outside the Pub that is for sale.

Did you get much for the wheels ?

Why don't you guys try to contact Cass the member who did actually own the camper version.
She will be able to tell you lots about them!
She joined us at a meet at Leek,
edit
I am pretty sure it was built before the P100 existed
A few pics of the van from that meet

You know what I realy don’t get attached to cars vans but I still pine for my wee Chevy Starcraft 21A73F5C-D39E-4DB6-AB15-38270E94DD3D.jpg

My cousin built a Dutton think it was based on a ford. What a heap.

There`s a guy near me has one and still uses it every day, see him regular in Booth`s supermarket, Penwortham :drive:

Matt Black, falling to bits, sounds like shyte, coughing & spluttering but it still manages to pass the MOT ....... just :scared:

Similar condition to this Dutton.jpg
