Hoping to get our first overnighter in the van next weekend down the west coast, Girvan area or thereabouts. If everything goes ok on the Friday night then hoping to convince the boss that since we are out and about anyway it would be a waste if we didn't stay out the Saturday night as well :)

Will have the wildcamping stickers on the van(thanks admin for the speedy posting of my membership stuff) so if you see us give us a :wave: or pop in for a cuppa and help me convince the other half that a camper is the way to go lol
 
Thanks folks, im sure it will be fine,might just send her back up the road on the Saturday and have the Saturday night to myself :lol-049:
 
Hi Delboy, enjoy the experience. If other half ain't keen just go solo it can be just as good except you gotta make your own breakfast.

Not a great deal of places to wild camp down girvan coast without having your night disturbed by people coming into the lay-bys, I would head in a bit and find a more remote spot if you want a quieter night,
Enjoy your weekend anyway I'm sure the good lady will be ok...
 
Our very first night wilding in a car park was a bit disturbed by cars coming and going at all hours. Wife was not too happy.
Next night in a more remote lakeside location was the solution. Now she is keen to do more wilding.
 
Any suggestions where would b a good place jim?camped up the leadhills a few times however since we wouldnt getva mobile signal she aint keen on that idea just now

Might try the carpark just outside sanquhar which is in the POI section

hi try the layby at lendalfoot at the varyag memorial its off the road and a good bit quieter
dunno about tv signal tho
and watch out if the (travellers) are present would give it a miss if they are there but we spent a good
few weekends there last year great spot

Just check out the poi's del look at the street view, you will know what ones are a bit more remote than others, only thing s if the good lady wants to watch telly the better spots are usually signal free lol

Hi and welcome Mr and Mrs delboy,Jim hunter hit on a few good points get pot there n enjoy,get away from google box ,if you need download a film or something then you won't need to worry about a signal. It's great to get away even for a few nights at the weekends which a lot of us do on this forum and others.
Keep watching and you may get a few pointers from other members who are out and about and meet up with them ,it's a great way to meet other members with your W badge,also keep watching for Scottish meets as hoping to arrange one in the coming month or so,it would be nice to meet you guys
Ps if you give stevie (bongovanman)a shout hey may be able to give you some idea for that area?
 
Cheers guys,will have a wee look at the POI's during the week n see what catches my eye
