Fiat Ducato oil warning

Hi, I have a 2005 Fiat Ducato campervan, i done an oil and filter change this morning but when i switched on the ignition i got a warning saying Oil High.
I checked the level at the dipstick and it was at max, i drained off some oil bringing the level down to slightly under max but the warning has remained.
Does anyone know how i can reset this, I've tried the service interval reset but that didn't work, the van is sitting perfectly level so thats not the problem.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I would believe the dipstick. Try running the van for a few minutes and see if that cures it.

Merc sprinters do this if the level is higher than midway between low and max on the dipstick

Same on the 2004 Ducato I used to have too. The full on dipstick shows high on the electronic level gauge, I took the dipstick to be the more accurate one to use.

Mine (2006) comes on exactly at the top of the dipstick high. You do not need to reset as it goes out when the level drops. As you have drained some out I would not be surprised if the warning vanishes after the next trip.

might try pulling the fuse for the instrument panel, then reinstalling it,
this resets the fuel gauge on a Sprinter. might work for you.
