Fiat Ducato Engine Management Light

I think on some days a van will wake up in a bad mood and just illuminate the CEL light, Just to p155 drivers off.

The fault will remain stored until it is cleared by a scanner, some times you can plug them in and it will show faults that you didn’t even know about, but it doesn’t mean you need to have the fault codes cleared
That happens on my VW Golf SV Richard  I use OBDeleven Pro and was worth every penny.

Whenever the DPF has been running which you can tell by the increased RPM at idle and the tone of the engine when accelerating it throws up a passive fault saying the air conditioning has been restricted however it does not put the MIL on and still works perfectly.

I`d forgot all about it until recently when i needed to change ordinary glow plug 1 which was faulty and did put the MIL on, this was confirmed by multi-meter with a resistance of 74 ohms  instead of the normal less than 5 ohms so whilst doing it i also changed 2 and 4 which are just ordinary glow plugs at £13 each for Bosch originals, the pressure sensor glow plug in number 3 because it`s euro 6 is ok and at £177 ( how flipping much ) i said to the nice lady on the parts counter, i`ll only change that when neccessary .

It does happen now and then, once or twice a week if I've been trundling about I will drop to 3rd and rev up to 3k for a mile or two that should burn off any soot etc from the EGR.
