Fiat Ducato Air Suspension

Just had the rack and bike on the back of the van with 25psi the van only dropped 5mm at the rear wheel arch so that looks ok . I now just need to alter the rack a little, make some wheel stops and some more tie down points and then we should be good to go. IoM here we come. :yeahthat:

If you are going on the CAT to the IOM then you need plenty of rear clearance and pump up the back to get on, if it is low tide, There were some very loud nasty scraping noises from the vans going on to the ramp at Liverpool and also when they came down on the pontoon, sudden change of angles causing the back end scrapes. I would not attempt to take my Oddessey on there, I would go to Heysham for a proper Ship and loading ramp along with the lorries.

No nothing like that, the instructions that come are a bit of a joke, to be honest you don't need them. The spacers could be welded to the flat to stop movement .For what they do what you are suggesting I would say you were over engineering them, but that's up to you. I will try to get you some sort of measurement sometime this week if you want. I know that sounds a bit ambiguous.

Do you have a forklift if so shove a plug on it and lift it in and out they don't need fastening down. They are very good.

I'd say they actually do fit around the round axle brackets, with top end fixing to front to rear chassis, see link:- http://www.marcleleisure.co.uk/store/pdf/dunlop/L.D84.C.M.en.DUN.pdf

The purchase you made, do they give a deflated/inflated height, would give an idea if a fit is possible? _/-\_ < top hat section, munu from stainless, with a nice fit over round chassis, then bolted to brackets, would be easier than packers, which could move!

Ours is a '93 544 and has the round axle brackets I think. The air rides came with it and would not be without them.

Mine go down to 100mm no air with van stood on rear wheels, this includes the top mounting plate . Hope this helps .

Without going out and blowing them up if I remember rightly when I fitted them blowing them up to 4bar 60psi raised the van 50mm at centre of the rear wheel arch. I was told working press min 10 psi max 75psi. 50 mm lift looks an awful lot when looking at the stance of the van. If you make your top hats tjght to the top of the axle I would have thought you would be fine. If you decide to order some I would wait until they arrive so you can measure the bottom clamp before making your top hats. Hope this helps with your decision.
