I thought I would beef up the security on my Fiat Ducato based Adria Twin. Fiamma seemed to make the right products so I ordered them.
This morning I decided to fix them on the van.
First the 'Fiamma Safe Door with Fiamma Kit Safe Door DD'. The Fiamma illustration shows the Safe Door fixed on the top half of the door. This is not possible due the campervan rear windows - see photo. The adjustable bracket cannot be extended enough to fit the door thickness (I ordered the right bracket for the make, model and year of van). This is not possible at any point on the door, even at the very bottom where the door is the thinnest.

Next I had a look at how the 'Safe Door Frame with Minivan Spacer Kit' would fit on the sliding door. This does not look like a good design. The right angle bracket does not fit into the gap when the door is closed but if the bracket is inserted before the door is closed the door can be closed. Which means that the door must be 'bouncing off' the bracket as it closes.

Next the 'Guardian' cab locks. I am now wondering what the point of these are as if the window is smashed it can be easily opened! To fit a slot needs to be cut into the trim. On the agentfiamma.co.uk website it says 'Fitting: Screws supplied. Replaces existing cab door catches' - I cannot see how the device replaces the existing cab door catches.
The above has made me think before I start drilling and cutting holes into my van. Anyone got any experience of fitting these devices? The Fiamma instructions are pretty brief.
thanks David
