Bit knackered now. Loaded the Sevylor Kayak on the bike this morning and set off to Batson Creek near Salcombe about an hour before high tide. Had a great time and covered a fair distance. Salcombe at this time of year is like a watery M25 just with everyone going in different directions. Loved it.

Nearly ended in tears when I got back as I left it too late and the creek was already drying out and I nearly ended up on Saving Lives at sea getting my feet stuck in the mud. It was an absolute nightmare getting out.

Few pics and a short vid.

You should get a bike battery and an electric boat motor on that thing, could be loads of fun.

Don't tell me Barry's converting his Kayak to Lithium Kev!

Actually I have a small electric outboard and yes, great fun with my canoe.

Hmm. You would need a side transom mount I think. This bloke did one on a Colorado. I could paddle faster than that. You need to be fairly far forward in an inflatable I think.

I doubt I would get the outboard on the bike as well. 😁

Anyway I did about five or six miles yesterday under my own steam but it was knackerising getting back up the creek against the tide and the wind. I doubt that motor would be as powerful as Rock God power though 💪

I had a side mount on my Colorado Barry, worked well and much more comfortable to use than a rear mount.

Yeah, not very quick but great for a bimble down the river whilst drinking beer.

I do like a drink out in the boat. Any boat for that matter. 😁

For one anniversary I took Michelle in the Kayak to Norfolk Island on Ullswater for a champagne picnic. 😁

I might just load up the kayak at Salcombe at low tide with booze, drift out on the tide, get shitfaced, wait for it to return and see what happens.

Hope it wasn't like Peel Island on Coniston Barry. Covered in crap last I heard. As was the one I went to on Windermere but I can't remember which one now.

Nah it's lovely on there. Fond memories of that island from my youth. Balmy summer evenings and camping overnight. Smashing. Quite small but big enough.
