Ferry Prices

Great idea

Go for it ,100 0/0 for it .hope admin agrees,
I'm at a distillery at the weekend where I go in for my tank to get filled for export and if members are serious I would also be willing to sound out the dist for a club membership/ discount possibility?

Tonight I have sent a message to Phil to see if he is interested. I have asked if it is possible to put a thread up asking how many people may be interested in this. Before I can approach the Ferry Company again I have to have a rough amount of members who use the Ferries to see what kind of discount they would give us. When I initially contacted them I said it was already possible to get between 10 and 20% off but this is not enough. ( If you don't ask you don't get). I am open to any ideas to forward with further discussions with the Ferry Company. One of my thoughts would be for Admin to provide those members who use the Ferries frequently a card with a membership name and number so it cannot be abused. If the cost of such a card was for example £10 and you got a really good discount surely this would be worth it, and of course the only people who would need to pay for the card would be those who wanted it. I don't see as this needs to be an annual payment, a one off payment should be all that is necessary. All I can do is try on all of our behalves. As DeL Boy said, "He who dares wins".
Oh, by the way Sinner, does OP stand for Old Age Pensioner, if so, I am not quite there, YET.

As some members have suggested, I have been in contact with Admin and given them the relative details and contact with My Ferry Link. They said negotiations should only be through them which is fair enough. I have also asked them to do a poll of the amount of members that would be interested as the Ferry Company indicated that without an amount of members who would be interested they could not see if they could give a discount. I have initiated this only for the members as I already benefit from discounted sailing ie. £50 per crossing for a 24ft van.
There are over 40,000 members on this site I realise that possibly only half of those are full members and possibly only half of those travel abroad. Even so, that equates to a possible 10,000 people who would benefit from Admin negotiating a discount on Ferry prices. There is no club without its members and thank you for every ones thoughts on this matter.
( By the way we head off to Spain on the 28th April is anyone else going down on that that date?)

Well Done

Very good idea well done that man funny that you didn't get any support the first time. Doubtful it's likely to be any use to me as usually use BF but the majority should benefit

Fantastic initiative! Well done you, and power to your elbow. Unfortunately already booked for this year, but many more years ahead. Go for it!
Regards Rog.

ferry crossings

i think you have a agood idea i will back you i travel to ireland on a a regular basis good luck

We usually book in advance when we see discount offered, but hasn't been for motorhomes lately.

With a family situation at the moment, being able to just turn up and get a good price would be great, as forward planning is difficult right now.

Anyone found any bargains or discounts? I'm going mid-September but flexible. How do I find the cheapest? I know it's been asked before so apologies....
