Fancy a McLaren?

We had a Renault 4 when we got married all of 50 odd years back (CHK775G). Went on honeymoon with it to Skye where the water pump failed. Surprisingly there was a Renault dealer on Skye (Broadford Motors if a recall correctly) who stated that he didn’t like working on them as they used metric sizes and he didn’t do metric! However he stripped the pump off a new R4 in their showroom to get us on our way.
As soon as we got back home I part exed it for the best car I have ever had (apart from my Tesla MX), a Renault 16 TS - the most comfortable armchair like seats going and a car well advanced for its time.

I had a gold one briefly, and made a very nice bed when required as the seats were soooo soft and folded very flat, loved the body styling too.

I like the look of it there is a chap who passes out house in something similar in army green, has the sachs/puch/stayer engine in it.

Might be a Haflinger, always wanted one since I saw one on an old TV program where the army took on the public off road.

The new v dub skodas are not much use as they give trouble, the 1.9 diesel was a good donkey mind you.
Bulit proof engines if regular oil changes. One of my T5s had done 250k when I sold it and it’s still going strong and probably nearer 300k now. Only major work was a clutch and flywheel at 200k.

Mere toy, my old soda had a real engine and on its forth time round the clock 314.000 miles.
