My family of four are travelling to Europe during the school summer holidays for 3 weeks. We did similar last year and I took out a travel insurance for around £20. I have been looking a bit deeper this time and wondering why insurance providers such as 'Caravan & Camping Club', 'The Caravan Club' & 'Ted Rogers' sorry I mean 'Alan Rogers' etc offer travel insurance at such a inflated rate to standard travel insurance companies. We have European breakdown with our van insurance so just a 'European Travel Insurance' for a family of four, really for medical cover. Are the 'camping/motorhome touring' companies just ripping us off or do their policies offer more??? Are they more taylor made for touring? I'm not worried about cancellation costs, (paid for tunnel crossing but thats all) don't need baggage loss or delayed flights, so why do they ask for so much more?? If anyone can offer any advise before I start trawling through all the 'PDF' policy documents that are on offer I would appreciate it. Thank you.
