External insulated screens

My screens are well used and have become absorbent in places holding water,has anyone reproofed the silver material before?I'm looking at using a water proofer for tents the type at go outdoors in an aerosol. But l wonder if a liquid wax may work just like the berber jackets are made.

Interesting, my screens appear to be made of a pliable plastic material and not absorbent however water could get in through the seams as they are stitched and obviously not waterproof.
