Expect further price rises for MH's

We were buying 18mm osb plywood sheeting for £16 a sheet this time last year. Monday I needed 40 sheets for a roof and had to pay £35 a sheet and was lucky to get it. We have 3 new roofs to start next month and will struggle for timber. Plasticks like gutters facias door and windows have nearly doubled in a year and we’ve been told it’s gonna double again.

Jaysus, that's one hell of a hike. I want to build a 16' x 8' workshop/shed and only factored in £1800, looks like I'm going to at least double that and maybe not use the round face cladding that would give it a log cabin appearance. Damn.

Use the tin corrugated stuff rivetted to a steel angle frame, you can then insulate and plyboard the inside.

One of the biggest stollen thing these days is farming machinery, tractors etc and 4/4 jeeps, think they go to overseas in containers.
I remember reading in the Farmers mag when over at the outlaws of a JCB which was stolen in Ireland being found a couple of years later in Egypt. My neighbour had his Manitou ( not another type of mankini Ral sorry) when the police arrived he said it was only a 6 hr slot since he had been up at the yard and it was there then, the reply from the police was it will already be on a ferry by now took a few details and left.

Scary! It should be noted also that we havent even started implementing checks on goods from Europe yet either since ****** which is why we never saw the shortages predicted (yet) and the deal which provides tariff free trade on many goods although now ratified is still at risk of going down the toilet because of the Northern Ireland protocol agreement breaches.

The pound has strengthened 10% or more in the last 12 months so imported motorhome components should cost less not more. However demand has soared so motorhome component manufacturers have been able to charge more. It really depends on how much forward pricing and volume has been built into supply contracts.

If it's going to cost towards 4 grand Ral it may be worth considering paying a bit more and buying a kit.

This is the one I bought last year;

Took me and my 2 lads 2 days to put together and I'm very pleased with the quality.

Just off the phone to one of my supplier's who import a lot components, he was stating to bring in a container used to cost 2k but now accelerating fast to 10k due to shortages of containers caused by the Suez canal blockage. On the bright side this has forced them to invest and produce more in-house which in my eyes can only be a good thing.
