Had a bit of a lurk around Exmoor past few days. Some really beautiful spots above Minehead on the Hill Road - listed in poi's. Also a night on the front at Minehead. No fee between 18:00 and 09:00. One no overnighting sign in loo car park at Quay West end. Very quiet for school hols.

Was down there myself, although POI admin says that there is no camping/overnighting in West Somerset council carparks, see thread for West cliff carparks

Correction - West Somerset Council state no overnighting/camping ... not me!

I'm puzzled - I just read the following on the National Parks website (Motor Home Parking: National Parks UK) which seems to imply that you CAN'T park overnight in their car parks.

Motor Home Parking
Parking your motor home at National Park car parks
Space is limited at some of our car parks for large motor homes and we do not have any designated spaces for this type of vehicle. Parking of motor homes is permitted but this will depend on the availability of existing spaces. Remember that at busy times and at some of our car parks you may not be able to find a space.

Some advice is given below specific to each car park. Please remember that there is no overnight parking allowed.

So can we or can't we?? And IF we CAN'T, what happens when we get caught doing it??:scared::rolleyes2:

Minehead

Wife is a Watchet girl, we live in Wiltshire and OFTEN take our Moho down to Minehead to park overnight in Blemheim Road by the Park, have a very enjoyable Saturday night doing what we do best around the pubs and sleep it off until gone noon Sunday.......done it once or twice a month for years, NO problem.

Elsewhere in Minehead? arrive mid/late evening and be ready to move by 830-9am, you'll have no problem.
